Soccer Season Conclusion

Soccer season seemed to be a success this year. Neither Joel or Grant ever complained about going or didn't want to do and they always had fun. I don't think either if their teams ever won a game, but they have no idea about that. They were on the same team, but each team is split into two when they play their games (older kids on one field, younger kids on the other). It worked out perfect us, since they always played at the same time, but didn't play on the same team (which is best).
Last game of the season, and I finally brought my camera with me. In my defense, I did bring it one other time, but they ended up playing in the rain that night.

Joel's style of play was to usually run around the action, but no BE the action. He didn't kick the ball much at all, but he was always running back and forth around the action and usually smiling.

Grant, totally surprised us and turned into quite a player for about the last 3 games! Gritting his teeth, trying to score goals was what his mission was for the the last half of the season. You can see here, from these pictures from the last game  that he was quite involved in the action. After the last game, the coach even said about Grant, "Wow, that was really fun to watch Grant improve so much during the season".

J & G's stay in Hibbing

After our weekend trip to Hibbing earlier in June, the boys got to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's "Hibbing House" for a whole week!! I think they have stayed for a few days before but this was their longest stay. Meanwhile, back in Buffalo, I had the perfect week with no kids to prepare for Grandma's Marathon in total relaxation mode. My parents and the kids then met us in Duluth for the marathon, so the first time I saw them was at mile 23, which made it all the sweeter to get to them for some hugs!

One of their favorite things in Hibbing, the Bennet Park skate park, where they could ride up and down the ramps on their bikes. I think they did this a few times.

Time for sleep! Thanks for documenting the boys' week in pictures Gma jane!

Beautiful Night

What a beautiful Sunday evening, ice cream truck stopped by and all:)

Fun, fun

Well, it only took me about 30 minutes to fill all these little water balloons that they threw at each other 4 minutes! We needed to start using up some of the many water balloons that Grant got for his birthday, so this was a good start. Did you know that most water balloons are biodegradeable?... I did not now that until the other day! I thought you had to pick up each and every little piece!

26.2

The experience of completing my first marathon was so much more than I imagined it would be. Going into it, and getting through the training, I KNEW that crossing the finish line would be a moment that I wouldn't soon forget. I didn't realize how memorable the previous 26.2 miles would be. The support of the crowds of people watching and just being with thousands of other runners was amazing. Not to mention that PERFECT weather we had for the race, and seeing all of my family at about mile 23. It was all overwhelming. I loved it.

Running to give hugs to everyone. I had been running a LONG time to finally see my babies, Jeff, mom and dad!
