Off to College

Moving Mitch into the dorms at UMD for the start of his Freshman year.  Exciting day!.  Met Mitch's roommate Travis and were thankful that he didn't appear to be a bozo.  As we left, the reality set in and we were all pretty bummed.  As we walked to the parking lot we all started to lose it.  Katie asked if I was OK and I said I was until she asked me if I was OK.  It was a long ride home.  As we left Duluth it was real quiet.  Then Grant asked Joel if he was sad.  Joel said "yeah" and Grant responded "Yeah, Me Too".  That made Katie and I tear up all over again.

Wisconsin Dells

Weekend trip to the Dells.  Playing a homemade baseball game Grandpa Benson taught Dad as a kid to pass time on the ride there.  Noah's Ark highlighted by the Black Anaconda.  Riding on the Duck Boats and watching mom get destroyed by the giant wave in the Mt Olympus wave pool.  Joel and Grant riding their 1st roller coasters - taking on 3 of the 4 wooden roller coasters - each one getting higher and faster.  Dad being guilted into riding Hades with Mitch - scary as heck!!!  Fun weekend that wiped us all out by the time we headed for home.
