Phone Pics!

I thought it would be fun, every one and awhile to download all the phone pictures from mine and Jeff's phone, and some others have texted us to the blog. Despite the poor photo quality, many of these everyday, real moments are priceless...

Joel, Mitch, and Lincoln in Duluth at Jon and Terri's hotel, when we went a few weeks ago for Grandma Elsie's birthday party.
Joel, proudly swimming in the deep water with no life jacket on.
Joel and Grant at the Edgewater Resort that we stayed at a few weeks ago when we went for Great Grandma's birthday party.
Grant, riding Grandma Benson's pony, Flirt, for the first time. This was a special day that he got to spend some time with Grandma by himself while Jeff went to a Dr. appt in Willmar and Joel was at school.

Grant, and his new buddy, Connor, who moved in kiddy-corner from us during the summer. Now that we see him every morning at the bus stop, these two have become friends and ask to play everyday.

Grant and Andrew, during a quick visit to Andrew's new house in Plymouth, during the first week of school. We had the pool all to ourselves and these two had a blast.
Left to Right... Joel, Henry, and Grant.  Henry is our neighbor boy who is Grant's age, who also lives kiddy-corner to us (opposite direction of Connor). The boys have recently "discovered" each other and that they really like to play together.
End of summer trip to the park with "Little Will".

This is what Billy spends most of his time doing... looking out the windows, usually barking:)
Grant.
At the neighbors house having an ice cream treat, end of summer
Glory Days Carnival, ride on the scrambler with Grandma, of course, since this thing makes Jeff and I sick:)

Random photo I found on my phone that Joel and Grant must have taken. :)
Joel... seriously, I am thinking that you may be a little big for Grandma to hold you. It won't be long before you are taller than her:)

Grant and I at this preschool fieldtrip to the apple orchard.

Whoa Joel! Strong much!...
Jeff and Mitch at KeeNeeMooSha, the first night working on a puzzle.
End of summer camp fire.
Grant, the game right before he got serious about soccer... being a goofball

Memorial Day weekend after they learned to ride their bikes with no training wheels.
Roger at Target Field, I think.

Homework Please!!

I figure if there is ever anything that really needed to be documented on the blog, this is it... Grant is having a great 2nd year of preschool so far. He loves school, loves his friends at school, loves his teacher. Everything is great... well everything except the lack of homework that is:) Grant has been extremely envious of Joel's kindergarten homework... so much so that we have opted to ask for homework for Grant, which his teacher as more than happy to help out with, and Grant loves it. Here is is working in his very first homework. I also added a first day of preschool picture on the bottom, since I don't think I ever posted that!

Grandma Elsie's 90th Birthday

We had a great time in Duluth to celebrate Jeff's Grandma's 90th Birthday with the entire Benson family. We stayed at the Edgewater Waterpark and the boys LOVED it. Joel was tall enough to go down the biggest slides by himself and he did great. We were lucky enough that it was around 60 degrees in Canal Park on Sunday, so a beautiful day to hang out by the lake!

We recently enjoyed celebrating FORTY years of marriage for my mom and dad. What a milestone! My sister was able to join us for a nice brunch and of course it wouldn't have been a party without a delicious cake! :) Congratulation Mom and Dad, you have set us an excellent example of what to strive for in our own marriages!

First day of school 2012

Big day here yesterday!, first day of high school and first day of kindergarten!! Everyone did great yesterday, including Joel on his bus ride and bus transfers and FULL day of kindergarten. When he finally got home, he said "mom, school was even kinda fun". Of course, with Joel, details are hard to come by, he is not much of a talker, but we have heard what he has had for lunch both days and that his first grade buddies name is Michael and he enjoys recess. The first picture he drew at kindergarten was a rainbow, so I thought that was nice:) The high school transition wasn't difficult for Mitchell, he took it in stride just like everything else. He seems SO OLD!! Handsome devil too:) both of them
